France requests assistance from allied nations to enhance security at Paris Olympics

France is requesting thousands of security forces from its foreign allies to assist in securing the Paris Olympics. French authorities are taking extensive measures to ensure security for the Olympics, which will be an open-air event with over 45,000 police officers, including snipers and elite forces. France had previously requested 2,185 police reinforcements from 46 allies.
