Olympic Flame Arrives in Paris Ahead of 2024 Summer Games

The Olympic torch relay reached Paris on Sunday, marking its first arrival in the French capital. The festivities kicked off with a ceremony featuring former footballer Thierry Henry, who carried the torch along the Champs-Elysees avenue. The relay was then passed to students from the multicultural northern suburbs of Seine-Saint-Denis. The torch was carried by hundreds of people across Paris, including BMX world champion Matthias Dandois and around 10,000 others chosen for their representation of art, culture, and gastronomy. The relay aimed to showcase France's diverse neighborhoods, moving from its posh districts to working-class areas.
