2024 US Presidential Election
Trump wins Nevada Republican caucuses in march to nomination
In the Republican caucuses held in Nevada on February 8, 2023, Donald Trump emerged as the victor, securing all 26 delegates. He was the only major candidate participating in the contest, which was the only one in Nevada that counts towards the GOP nomination. Trump also won the Republican nominating contest in the US Virgin Islands earlier in the day, adding four more delegates to his tally. Nikki Haley, Trump's last remaining rival in the race, opted not to participate in the Nevada caucuses due to what she perceived as an unfair process favoring Trump. Instead, she ran in Nevada's symbolic state-run presidential primary on Tuesday. The Republican contest will now move on to South Carolina's primary on February 24, where Haley hopes her local roots will give her an edge.
