Man accused of killing Ugandan Olympic runner Rebecca Cheptegei dies from burns in hospital

Rebecca Cheptegei, a 33-year-old marathon runner, was attacked by her former boyfriend Dickson Ndiema Marangach in her home in western Kenya on September 1. Cheptegei was being treated in the intensive care unit at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret, but unfortunately, she died four days after the attack due to her injuries. Dickson Ndiema Marangach, 32, was also injured in the attack and was being treated in the intensive care unit at the same hospital. However, he died on Monday, reportedly due to respiratory failure caused by severe airway burns.
