Lone Orca Kills Great White Shark Off South African Coast

A killer whale, specifically a male named Starboard, was observed off the coast of Mossel Bay in South Africa hunting and consuming a great white shark for the first time. This event, led by Dr. Alison Towner and an international research team, sheds new light on the predatory behavior of orcas. While orcas have been documented hunting various species such as sharks, dolphins, and even whales solo, this is believed to be the first known instance of a lone orca successfully hunting the world's largest predatory fish, a great white shark.
