Israel-Lebanese Hezbollah Conflict
UN observers wounded in blast while patrolling southern Lebanon border
The UN peacekeeping missions in Lebanon, specifically the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO) and the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), have reported incidents of their military observers being wounded by shell explosions while on patrol near the Israeli-Lebanese border. The incidents occurred during the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, which began with the Israeli-Hamas war. UNTSO reported four wounded observers, while UNIFIL reported three wounded observers and one translator. Both organizations condemned the targeting of peacekeepers, stating it is unacceptable. Israeli military and Hezbollah have been exchanging regular cross-border fire.
