Immigration in the British Channel
One person dead and two missing after incident on Channel boat
On Wednesday, four rescue operations were carried out in the English Channel by French-led teams. A total of 179 people were rescued during these operations. Sadly, one migrant lost his life and two others are reported missing. In one instance, a boat with approximately 50 migrants on board encountered distress and three individuals fell into the water. Rescuers managed to recover one person, but unfortunately, they were unable to revive her. The French maritime authority was involved in all four operations. It should be noted that there might be slight variations in the number of people rescued or missing across different reports.
