Yeelen

Yeelen is a 1987 Malian film written, directed, and produced by Souleymane Cissé, based on a legend told by the Bambara people. The film follows the story of Nianankoro, a young African man with magical powers, as he embarks on a heroic quest against his father, Soma, who seeks to kill him. Along the way, Nianankoro encounters various characters, including a hyena, a king, and his uncle Djigui, and uses his powers to overcome obstacles and eventually confront his father in a final showdown.
