Will Rogers State Beach
Will Rogers State Beach is a beach park in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, extending 1.75 miles along the Santa Monica Bay. The beach features volleyball courts, gymnastic equipment, restrooms, a playground, and a bike path that connects to the 19.1-mile South Bay Bicycle Trail. It's a popular surf spot and has been the location for several films and television shows. A section of the beach near the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Entrada Drive is known as the Los Angeles Gay Beach. The beach is named after the actor, commentator, and humorist Will Rogers, who owned property in the area before his death in 1935. His widow, Betty, gifted the oceanfront to the state, which dedicated the beach in 1942.learn more on wikipedia
