Wakulla River
The Wakulla River is an 11-mile-long river in Wakulla County, Florida, that carries the outflow from Wakulla Springs to the St. Marks River. Its drainage basin extends into Leon County and may reach as far north as the Georgia border. The river was once used for filming underwater scenes, including several Tarzan movies and Creature from the Black Lagoon, due to its clear and clean water. The name Wakulla is derived from the Guacara name, which was pronounced Wakala by the Seminoles, and is likely related to the fact that both the Wakulla and Suwannee rivers are fed by springs. The Wakulla River Canoe Trail runs for approximately 4 miles, but access to the river north of the Upper Bridge is blocked by a chain-link fence.learn more on wikipedia
