Villa Doria Pamphili

The Villa Doria Pamphili is a 17th-century villa located in the Monteverde quarter of Rome, Italy, with a large landscaped public park. The property began as a villa for the Pamphili family, who built a new casino designed by Alessandro Algardi and Giovanni Francesco Grimaldi between 1645 and 1653. The casino, also known as the Casino del Bel Respiro, features a central circular room and a facade with rhythmically alternating windows and niches adorned with sculptures. The exterior design is somewhat conservative for its date, with a rich allure that offers a foretaste of the richly stuccoed and frescoed interiors.
