Via Dei Fori Imperiali
The Via dei Fori Imperiali is a road in the center of Rome, Italy, that runs from the Piazza Venezia to the Colosseum. It was built during the Fascist period between 1924 and 1932, and was initially named Via dell'Impero, but was renamed to its current name after World War II. The road's construction involved the systematic demolition of medieval and Renaissance structures, including churches and tenements, and uncovered parts of the Imperial Roman forums. Despite being a popular tourist destination, the road is also seen as a barrier to the Roman Forum area, causing damage to surrounding ancient monuments. In 2013, the southern part of the road was closed to private motor vehicles, although buses and taxis are still allowed to use it.learn more on wikipedia
