Venice Beach

Venice is a neighborhood of Los Angeles that was founded by Abbot Kinney in 1905 as a seaside resort town called "Venice of America". Kinney built a series of canals, a pier, and a beachfront promenade, and the town quickly became a popular destination for tourists, who came to ride the "Red Cars" of the Pacific Electric Railway and enjoy the town's amusement pier and other attractions.
