Urbi et Orbi
The Urbi et Orbi address and apostolic blessing is a solemn form of blessing in the Catholic Church, reserved for occasions such as Easter, Christmas, and the proclamation of a newly elected pope. The blessing is given by the pope from the central loggia of Saint Peter's Basilica in Vatican City and is broadcast worldwide. The Roman Catholic Church grants a plenary indulgence to those who "devoutly receive" the blessing, and since 1985, this indulgence has also been granted to those who follow the blessing through radio or television. In 2020, Pope Francis imparted an extraordinary Urbi et Orbi blessing to pray for the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, loosening the requirements to receive the Eucharist and go to confession due to the lockdowns and suspension of liturgies.learn more on wikipedia
