USS Kearsarge
The USS Kearsarge (LHD-3) is a Wasp-class amphibious assault ship of the United States Navy. It was launched on March 26, 1992, and commissioned on October 16, 1993. The ship is equipped with an assault support system that coordinates the movement of troops, cargo, and vehicles, as well as a Monorail system and a 13,600-square-foot well deck. It is capable of amphibious assault, advance force, and special purpose operations, non-combatant evacuation, and humanitarian missions.
