UN Resolution 425

On March 19, 1978, the United Nations Security Council adopted Resolution 425, calling on Israel to immediately withdraw its forces from Lebanon in response to the Israeli invasion of the country. The resolution also established the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) to bring about and confirm the withdrawal of Israeli forces, restore international peace and security, and help the Lebanese government restore its authority in southern Lebanon. Israeli forces withdrew from Lebanon by June 1978, but the resolution did not bring a complete end to the conflict, with PLO attacks from southern Lebanon continuing and Israel launching a larger invasion in 1982.learn more on wikipedia
