Tropic Thunder
Tropic Thunder is a 2008 satirical action comedy film directed by Ben Stiller, starring Stiller, Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr., Jay Baruchel, and Brandon T. Jackson as a group of prima donna actors making a Vietnam War film. When their director drops them in a jungle and dies, they must use their acting skills to survive real action and danger, parodying war films, the Hollywood studio system, and method acting. The film was produced by DreamWorks Pictures and Red Hour Productions and features an ensemble cast including Nick Nolte, Danny McBride, Matthew McConaughey, Bill Hader, and Tom Cruise, who were nominated for several awards, including an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award. The film was a commercial success, grossing over $195 million worldwide, and received generally positive reviews for its characters, story, and cast performances, despite some controversy over its depiction of people with disabilities and use of blackface makeup.learn more on wikipedia
