Tribhuvan International Airport
Tribhuvan International Airport is a tabletop airport in Kathmandu, Nepal, with a domestic terminal and an international terminal. It serves as a hub for two international airlines, Nepal Airlines and Himalaya Airlines, and connects Nepal to over 40 destinations in 17 countries. The airport was originally named Gauchaur Airport and was renamed Tribhuvan Airport in 1955, after King Mahendra, and again to Tribhuvan International Airport in 1964. The airport has a long history of aviation, with the first flight landing in 1949, and has hosted several notable visitors, including Queen Elizabeth II in 1961.
