Treaty on the Functioning of the EU
The Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU) is one of two treaties forming the constitutional basis of the European Union, the other being the Treaty on European Union (TEU). It was previously known as the Treaty Establishing the European Community (TEC) and originated as the Treaty of Rome, signed on 25 March 1957 by six European countries. The TFEU has undergone two name changes since 1957, first becoming the Treaty on European Union (TEU) in 2009 and then returning to its current name in 2009. The consolidated TFEU consists of seven parts, including principles, non-discrimination and citizenship, and union policies and internal actions, which cover a wide range of areas such as customs union, common agricultural policy, free movement of people, services, and capital, and economic and monetary policy.learn more on wikipedia
