Torah

The Torah is the compilation of the first five books of the Hebrew Bible, including Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. It is also known as the Pentateuch or the Five Books of Moses. In Rabbinical Jewish tradition, it is referred to as the Written Torah and is usually printed in bound book form as a Chumash. The Torah is considered a sacred text not only in Judaism, but also in Samaritanism, where it is known as the Samaritan Pentateuch, and in Islam, where it is referred to as the Tawrat.
