Top Gun
Top Gun is a 1986 American action drama film directed by Tony Scott, produced by Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer, and starring Tom Cruise as Lieutenant Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, a young naval aviator. The film was inspired by an article titled "Top Guns" written by Ehud Yonay and received mixed reviews from critics but became a huge commercial hit, grossing $357 million globally. The film was later selected for preservation in the National Film Registry in 2015 and spawned a sequel, Top Gun: Maverick, in 2022. The film's plot follows Maverick and his Radar Intercept Officer, Goose, as they attend the Naval Fighter Weapons School at Naval Air Station Miramar and engage in a romantic relationship with a civilian instructor, Charlie Blackwood.learn more on wikipedia
