Texas School Book Depository
The Texas School Book Depository, now known as the Dallas County Administration Building, is a seven-floor building in downtown Dallas, Texas. It was Lee Harvey Oswald's vantage point during the assassination of President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963, and Oswald shot and mortally wounded the president from a sixth floor window. The building has a complex history, originally owned by John Neely Bryan, it was rebuilt in 1902 after being hit by lightning, and underwent various changes in ownership and usage before being purchased by D. Harold Byrd in 1939. The building was later leased by John Sexton & Co., and then used as a warehouse by the Texas School Book Depository Company before the assassination. After the assassination, the building was saved from destruction by the mayor of Dallas, Wes Wise, and is now a Texas Historic Landmark.learn more on wikipedia
