Taser
The TASER is a conducted energy device used to incapacitate people, allowing them to be handled in an unresisting manner, typically by firing two barbed darts into the skin that are connected to a main unit by a thin wire, delivering a modulated electric current designed to disrupt voluntary control of muscles. TASERs have been marketed as less-lethal, but in the US, at least 49 people died in 2018 after being shocked by police with a Taser, and in Canada, all taser possession is considered illegal. The first TASER was introduced in 1993 for police use as a less-lethal force option and has since been widely adopted, with over 15,000 law enforcement and military agencies around the world using them by 2010, with some studies suggesting that they have saved 75,000 lives and reduced police officer injuries by 76%.learn more on wikipedia
