Syrian Revolution
The Syrian Revolution, also known as the Syrian Revolution of Dignity, was a series of mass protests and uprisings in Syria that lasted from March 2011 to December 2024. The revolution began as minor demonstrations in January 2011 and transformed into large nationwide protests in March, demanding the end of the decades-long Assad family rule. The uprising was marked by mass protests, police and military violence, massive arrests, and a brutal crackdown, resulting in hundreds of thousands of deaths and tens of thousands wounded. Despite the Assad regime's attempts to crush the protests, the revolution eventually led to the fall of the regime in December 2024, with President Bashar Al Assad fleeing the country and Islamist rebels capturing power in Damascus.learn more on wikipedia
