Super Heavy

Super Heavy is the reusable first stage of the SpaceX Starship super heavy-lift launch vehicle, composed of a 71-meter tall, 9-meter wide fuel tank, oxygen tank, and interstage. It has undergone flight testing as of September 2024, with a Block 1 vehicle making its first orbital launch attempt on April 20, 2023. The manufacturing process involves stacking and welding stainless steel rings to form the outer layer, followed by the addition of domes, grid fins, and chines. Super Heavy is composed of four sections: the engines, fuel tank, oxygen tank, and interstage, with the propellant tanks separated by a common bulkhead.
