Sugarloaf Mountain

Sugarloaf Mountain is a peak located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, rising 396 meters above the harbor and named for its resemblance to a sugarloaf due to its shape and association with sugarcane trade in the 16th century. It is part of a family of steep-sided rock outcroppings known as bornhardts and is protected by the Sugarloaf Mountain and Urca Hill Natural Monument, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2012.
