St Mary Magdalene
Mary Magdalene was a woman who followed Jesus and was a witness to his crucifixion and resurrection, being mentioned by name in the four canonical gospels. She was likely a wealthy woman from the town of Magdala, and was one of the first to witness the empty tomb and Jesus's resurrection. She is considered a saint by several Christian denominations, including the Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, and Lutheran churches. In Gnostic Christian writings, she is portrayed as Jesus's closest and most beloved disciple, and as the "apostle to the apostles" due to her role as the first to witness Jesus's resurrection. Mary Magdalene is a real historical figure, but very little is known about her life outside of the three Synoptic Gospels, which were written during the first century AD.learn more on wikipedia
