Southwest Florida International Airport
Southwest Florida International Airport is a major county-owned airport in South Fort Myers, Florida, serving the Southwest Florida region, including the Cape Coral-Fort Myers, Naples-Marco Island, and Punta Gorda metropolitan areas. The airport is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection port of entry and is the second-busiest single-runway airport in the United States, after San Diego International Airport. It currently serves over 10 million passengers annually, making it the busiest airport in its history. The airport occupies 13,555 acres of land, with 6,000 acres set aside for environmental mitigation. The airport has undergone several expansions since its opening in 1983, including the addition of a new wing to Concourse B and the lengthening of the runway to 12,000 feet.learn more on wikipedia
