Slumdog Millionaire

Slumdog Millionaire is a 2008 British drama film based on the novel Q & A by Vikas Swarup. The film tells the story of Jamal Malik, a young man from the Juhu slums of Mumbai, who appears on the Indian version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and answers every question correctly, winning a large sum of money. Accused of cheating, Jamal recounts his life story to the police, explaining how his experiences have enabled him to answer the questions. The film received widespread critical acclaim, winning eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director, and seven BAFTA Awards.
