Second Amendment
The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution protects the right to keep and bear arms and was ratified on December 15, 1791. The Supreme Court has affirmed that this right belongs to individuals for self-defense in the home, while also noting that it is not unlimited and does not preclude certain long-standing prohibitions. The amendment was based on English common law and was influenced by the English Bill of Rights of 1689. The Supreme Court has issued several landmark decisions regarding the Second Amendment, including District of Columbia v. Heller, McDonald v. City of Chicago, and New York State Rifle & Pistol Association, Inc. v. Bruen, which have established that the right to bear arms is protected at the federal and state levels.learn more on wikipedia
