Sea of Japan
The Sea of Japan is a marginal sea located between the Japanese archipelago, Sakhalin, the Korean Peninsula, and the Russian Far East. It has almost no tides due to its isolation from the Pacific Ocean, resulting in lower faunal diversity and salinity. The sea has no large islands, bays, or capes, and its water balance is primarily determined by inflow and outflow through straits connecting it to neighboring seas and the Pacific Ocean. The sea's water has a high concentration of dissolved oxygen, leading to high biological productivity and making fishing the dominant economic activity. The naming of the sea is a point of contention between Japan, South Korea, and North Korea, with each country having a different preferred name.learn more on wikipedia
