Saraswati River
The Sarasvati River is a mythologized and deified ancient river first mentioned in the Rigveda, playing a significant role in the Vedic religion. It was described as a great and holy river in northwest India in the oldest Rigvedic texts, but later as a small river ending in a terminal lake. The river was also considered a powerful and mighty flood. The Sarasvati is also believed to exist in a metaphysical form, confluencing with the Ganges and Yamuna at the Triveni Sangam. Numerous scholars have proposed that the Sarasvati was identified with the Ghaggar-Hakra River system, but recent geophysical research suggests that this identification is problematic, as the Ghaggar-Hakra system had dried up thousands of years before the composition of the Rigveda.learn more on wikipedia
