San Gabriel Mountains
The San Gabriel Mountains are a mountain range located in northern Los Angeles County and western San Bernardino County, California, and are part of the Transverse Ranges. The range features rolling peaks, numerous canyons, and is generally rugged and difficult to traverse. The highest peak in the range is Mount San Antonio, also known as Mt. Baldy, which rises to 10,069 feet. The range is composed of a large fault block between the San Andreas Fault Zone to the north and the San Gabriel Fault and other fault zones to the south. The San Gabriel Mountains National Monument was designated by Barack Obama in 2014, and the Trust for Public Land has protected over 3,800 acres of land in the range and its surrounding areas.learn more on wikipedia
