River Taw
The River Taw is a river in England that rises at Taw Head on Dartmoor, crosses North Devon, and empties into Bideford Bay in the Bristol Channel. It has a length of approximately 72 km and drains a variable width basin. The river's course includes major tributaries such as the Lapford Yeo and Little Dart River, and it receives the River Mole, which rises on Exmoor. The river becomes tidal near Newbridge and has a rolling valley surrounded by animal pasture, cultivated fields, and woodland. The river's course is followed by the Tarka Trail and includes several bridges, including the Long Bridge in Barnstaple. The river's tidal section has a large tidal range, with daily changes of water depth of 6 m to 8 m near its mouth. The river shares an estuary with the River Torridge and has a number of ports, including Barnstaple, Fremington, and Yelland.learn more on wikipedia
