River Conwy
The River Conwy is a 55-kilometer-long river in north Wales that drains an area of 678 square kilometers. It rises on the Migneint moor, where it is joined by several tributaries, including the rivers Machno and Afon Lledr, before flowing north through the towns of Betws-y-coed, Llanrwst, and Dolgarrog. The river then empties into Conwy Bay at Conwy, where it is tidal as far as Tan-lan. The river's catchment is bounded by rolling ancient mudstone hills to the east and craggy hills and mountains to the west, which are rich in minerals and have been the site of copper, lead, and silver mining since Roman times. The river valley downstream of Betws-y-coed is relatively wide and fertile, supporting dairying and sheep rearing.learn more on wikipedia
