Red Sea

The Red Sea is a sea inlet of the Indian Ocean, located between Africa and Asia, with a surface area of approximately 438,000 km2 and an average depth of 490 meters. It is about 2,250 km long and 355 km wide at its widest point, with a maximum depth of 3,040 meters in the central Suakin Trough. The sea is home to a diverse range of marine life, including over 1,000 invertebrate species and 200 types of soft and hard coral. The Red Sea is the world's northernmost tropical sea and has been designated a Global 200 ecoregion. It is bounded by the Sinai Peninsula, the Gulf of Aqaba, and the Gulf of Suez, and its connection to the Indian Ocean is through the Bab-el-Mandeb strait and the Gulf of Aden.learn more on wikipedia
