Ramat David Airbase
Ramat David Airbase is an Israeli Air Force base located 20 km southeast of Haifa in the Northern District of Israel. It is the northernmost IAF base in Israel and serves as a hub for fighter jets, UAVs, and helicopters. The base was established in 1942 by the Royal Air Force (RAF) and was later taken over by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in 1948. Over the years, Ramat David has become a key base for IAF operations in Syria and Lebanon, with various squadrons operating from the base, including the 117 Squadron, 109 Squadron, and 110 Squadron. The base has played a significant role in several conflicts, including the Six-Day War, the Yom Kippur War, and Operation Opera, and has been targeted by rockets from Syria and Lebanon. Today, the base continues to operate with a reduced number of fighter jets, following the disbandment of the 117 Squadron in 2020.learn more on wikipedia
