RFA Proteus

RFA Proteus is a Royal Fleet Auxiliary ship that was formerly named MV Topaz Tangaroa and was operated as an offshore support vessel. The ship was acquired by the UK's Ministry of Defence in 2023 for £70 million and converted into a Multi-Role Ocean Surveillance Ship (MROSS). The ship is equipped with a 120-tonne crane, a hangar, and workshops for accommodating remotely operated and unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), including three Kongsberg HUGIN Large UUVs capable of conducting surveillance and surveys down to 6,000 metres.
