RAF Lakenheath

RAF Lakenheath is a Royal Air Force station in Suffolk, England, currently hosting United States Air Force (USAF) units and personnel. The 48th Fighter Wing, also known as the Liberty Wing, operates F-15E Strike Eagle and F-35A Lightning II aircraft. The base has a history dating back to the First World War as a Royal Flying Corps airfield, and during the Second World War it was used as a decoy airfield and hosted RAF flying units on detachment.
