Qingming
The Qingming Festival is a traditional Chinese festival observed by ethnic Chinese in various countries. It falls on the first day of the fifth solar term of the traditional Chinese lunisolar calendar, making it the 15th day after the Spring Equinox, usually in April. During the festival, Chinese families visit their ancestors' tombs to clean and make ritual offerings, including traditional food dishes and the burning of joss sticks and joss paper. The festival recognizes the traditional reverence for one's ancestors in Chinese culture and has its origins dating back over 2500 years. It became a public holiday in mainland China in 2008 and is associated with the consumption of qingtuan, green dumplings made of glutinous rice and Chinese mugwort or barley grass.learn more on wikipedia
