Protestantism
Protestantism is a branch of Christianity that emphasizes justification through faith alone, unmerited divine grace, the priesthood of all believers, and the Bible as the sole infallible source of authority. The Protestant Reformation, led by Martin Luther, began in the 16th century with the goal of reforming the Catholic Church and led to the spread of Protestantism across Europe, including the establishment of Lutheran, Calvinist, and Anglican churches. Protestantism is diverse, with various denominations divided on the basis of theology and ecclesiology, and is characterized by a focus on an invisible church and the Bible as the ultimate source of authority. As of 2024, Protestantism has 625,606,000 followers worldwide.learn more on wikipedia
