Prithivi Highway
The Prithvi Highway, also known as NH04, is a 174-kilometer-long highway connecting Naubise, 26 kilometers from Kathmandu, to Prithivi Chowk, Pokhara, a tourist city in western Nepal. The highway was constructed with Chinese assistance from 1967 to 1974 and is named after King Prithvi Narayan Shah. It passes through five districts and has a junction with the Tribhuvan Highway at Naubise, connecting to the Mahendra Highway. The highway is prone to landslides and congestion, and has faced issues with bridge maintenance, including the potential collapse of a 370-meter bridge over the Madi River. The highway is also a major artery for heavy trucks and has scenic views of the surrounding mountains, including Machapuchare and the Annapurna massif.learn more on wikipedia
