Portrait of Fräulein Lieser

The Portrait of Fräulein Lieser is a 1917 painting by Gustav Klimt, left unsigned and presumed lost after the artist's death in 1918, but discovered in 2024 in good condition. The painting depicts a young woman, identified as possibly Helene Lieser, cousin of Margarethe Constance Lieser, in a red cloak adorned with flowers, and is thought to have been commissioned by Henriette Lieser. The painting measures 140 by 80 centimeters and is believed to have been painted in Klimt's studio over nine sittings in 1917.
