Port Qasim

Port Qasim is a deep-water seaport in Karachi, Pakistan, serving as the country's second busiest port, handling about 35% of Pakistan's cargo. It is located on the Arabian Sea and is under the administrative control of the Secretary to the Government of Pakistan for Maritime Affairs. The port covers an area of 12,000 acres and is home to many industrial zones, including the Pakistan Steel Mills and KESC Bin Qasim Power Plant, as well as around 80% of Pakistan's automotive industry. The port is managed by the Port Qasim Authority, a semi-autonomous government body, and provides direct waterfront access to two major industrial areas, Export Processing Zone and Korangi Industrial Area, which account for approximately 60% of the country's export and import.
