Pituffik Space Base

Pituffik Space Base, located on the northwest coast of Greenland, is the northernmost installation of the United States Armed Forces, 1,210 km north of the Arctic Circle. The base is home to a range of military assets, including missile warning sensors, space surveillance and control sensors, and a Ballistic Missile Early Warning System. The base also hosts a number of other units, including the 821st Space Base Group and the 12th Space Warning Squadron, and has a 3,000-meter runway that handles over 3,000 flights per year.learn more on wikipedia
