Petulia
Petulia is a 1968 drama film directed by Richard Lester and starring Julie Christie, George C. Scott, and Richard Chamberlain. The screenplay was written by Lawrence B. Marcus from a story by Barbara Turner, based on the 1966 novel Me and the Arch Kook Petulia by John Haase. The film tells the story of Petulia Danner, a young socialite who falls in love with a divorced doctor, Archie Bollen, and they embark on a tragic affair. The production was marked by significant changes, including a rewritten script and a change in director from Robert Altman to Richard Lester, and was shot on location in San Francisco with a cast that included members of the rock bands Jefferson Airplane, the Grateful Dead, and Big Brother and the Holding Company.learn more on wikipedia
