Paranthropus Boisei

Paranthropus boisei is a species of australopithecine that lived in East Africa from 2.5 to 1.15 million years ago. The species is characterized by its heavily built skull and large molars, and was likely a generalist feeder of abrasive C4 plants. Brain size was around 450-550cc, and some specimens show evidence of sexual dimorphism, with females being smaller than males. The species may have been arboreal to some degree and was able to make Oldowan stone tools and butcher carcasses.
