Palm Beach International Airport

Palm Beach International Airport, also known as PBI Airport, began operations in 1936 as Morrison Field and was named after Grace Morrison, a key participant in its planning and organization. The airport was used by the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II for training and as a staging base for the Allied invasion of France. After the war, the airport was returned to Palm Beach County in 1947 and renamed Palm Beach International Airport in 1948, before being used by the U.S. Air Force again in 1951 under the name Palm Beach Air Force Base.learn more on wikipedia
