Palabek Refugee Settlement

Palabek Refugee Settlement is a refugee camp in Northern Uganda established in April 2016 to accommodate over 50,000 refugees primarily from South Sudan, with 85% of arrivals being women and children. The settlement hosts 11 schools serving over 25,000 students, and also has a women's netball team. The refugees face challenges such as high sexual gender-based violence, cultural taboos around menstruation, and increased risk of child marriage, abuse, and teen pregnancy amongst young girls.learn more on wikipedia
