P8 Poseidon
The Boeing P-8 Poseidon is a maritime patrol and reconnaissance aircraft developed for the United States Navy, operating in anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance roles. It is a derivative of the Boeing 737-800 airliner, armed with torpedoes, Harpoon anti-ship missiles, and other weapons, and can operate in conjunction with other assets. The P-8 has been ordered by several countries, including the United States, India, Australia, the United Kingdom, Norway, New Zealand, and others, and is expected to replace the Lockheed P-3 Orion. The aircraft's development began in 2000, with Boeing selected as the winner of the Multimission Maritime Aircraft program in 2004. The first flight of the P-8 occurred on 25 April 2009, with the first production aircraft delivered to the USN on 4 March 2012.learn more on wikipedia
